It’s a Sign and Sing Christmas With ITV Signed Stories!

Signed Stories

ITV is making some of the best-loved Christmas carols and songs accessible to all children with British Sign Language, music and subtitles.

In the run up to Christmas, ITV’s award winning website www.signedstories.com will feature a new carol or song each week. From the traditional Once in Royal David’s City, to the lively and joyous We Wish You a Merry Christmas, there’s something for everyone.

They’re performed in BSL and sung in English, with subtitles so they’re perfect for all children to enjoy.

Joseph Sheridan, ITV SignPost’s Deaf Team Manager who performs We Three Kings says: “Our Christmas carols are a fun way for all the family to learn BSL and share the celebration of Christmas together.”

Free Resources

The stories are supported with advice and tips on signing and singing from Music and the Deaf founder, Dr Paul Whittaker OBE and the staff and pupils of Northern Counties School in Newcastle.

And there are downloadable songsheets in the resources section to help children
learn the words.
