Level 1 Award in Deaf Awareness and Communication (DAC1) – New Statistics

Action on Hearing Loss has recently released new statistics about the number of deaf and deafblind people in the UK. We see this as a significant change to those contained in our Level 1 Award in Deaf Awareness and Communication qualification for 2011-2012.

As a result, we have updated the content of the qualification specification, teacher notes, course booklets and assessment materials to reflect these revised statistics.

A new version of the 2011-2012 specification is now available. To view this, please click here.

The teacher notes for DAC1 can be found in the resources section of the website here.

For more information, Action on Hearing Loss has produced a factsheet called Facts and figures on deafness and tinnitus which contains the latest available figures on hearing loss, tinnitus and deafblindness.
