After nearly six years as Director of Communications at Signature, Paul Parsons has announced that he is to leave the charity.
Paul joined Signature in 2007 when it was still called CACDP. In that time he has led many successful initiatives including our successful rebrand, reengaging with our core customers and stakeholders, establishing the Signature Annual Awards, and developing qualifications that enable Deaf Interpreters and Translators to have their professional skills recognised. Since 2010 Paul has also been Director for NRCPD, the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People, where he has worked with Huw Vaughan Thomas and other board members to deliver a bold strategy to make the registers more credible, accessible, and professional.
Announcing his decision, Paul said, “After six years the time is right for me to move on and tackle some different challenges. I’ve enjoyed working at Signature immensely and am really proud to have been part of such a talented, dedicated team that has achieved so much. Of course I’ll miss everyone I work with, but you can be sure I’ll always be a strong advocate for deaf and deafblind people.”
Commenting, Jim Edwards said “Paul has been a tremendous value to us all at Signature and we will miss him greatly, Paul brought a solid understanding of the deaf sector and has enabled the organisation to adapt and develop in challenging times, his persuasive and political skills have been an extraordinary asset to ensure we have been placed to punch well above our weight.
