In collaboration with deaf sector colleagues,we have arranged a drop in event for MPs to raise awareness of the need for improved communication and language support for deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people.
We are holding the event as part of a cross deaf sector campaign to increase the quantity and quality of language and communication support.
It will take place today, Tuesday 15 October, between 2pm and 3.30pm in Westminster Hall and will include opening remarks from Sir Malcolm Bruce and a host of invited guests from across the political divide are expected to attend.
The drop-in provides an opportunity to brief MPs on the aims of the campaign and the issues surrounding Sir Malcolm Bruce’s private members bill on Communication Support (Deafness). It has been timed to take place prior to the second reading of the bill which forms part of the campaign.
Signature look forward to what promises to be a successful afternoon.
