Signature is proud to be supporting Pride Month.
This June marks LGBTQ Pride Month 2019. The first celebration began in 1970, as a way to recognise the one year anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion. Almost 50 years later, thousands of people across the UK come together to celebrate and show support for the culture and rights of the LGBTQ community.
A month long celebration, it provides the LGBTQ community with a platform to raise awareness of the issues that face so many people throughout the world. Pride events are held throughout the UK, and often feature music festivals, street parties, public speakers and educational activities. These events continue to grow and now attract millions of participants.
It is fantastic that so many high profile organisations, celebrities, politicians and influencers now get involved with Pride Month, and it just shows how far we’ve come.
We have come a long way since the riots back it 1969, and it is inspiring that so many people are able to come together to celebrate, raise awareness and encourage inclusiveness throughout the country.
