Signature Northern Ireland Meet the First Minister

Signature Northern Ireland Communication Manager, Pam Tilson, meets the First Minister, the Rt Hon Peter Robinson MLA

At the recent DUP Annual Conference, Signature Communications Manager, Pam Tilson, was given the opportunity to discuss the work Signature is doing to promote excellence in communication with deaf and deaf blind people.

The conference took place on 24 November at the La Mon Hotel, Belfast. Delegates heard from the First Minister, the Rt Hon Peter Robinson MLA, he said “we need to challenge ourselves as well as others and build a society where everyone feels equally valued.” Also speaking at the conference were Theresa Villiers, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and Vernon Coaker, Shadow Secretary of State.

Pam, pictured with the First Minister, also met with MP’s, MLA’s and DUP party members. She told delegates about the Deaf Communications Infrastructure Development (DCID) project and the work Signature is doing to help deaf people in Ireland. She also stressed the importance of using SignSafe, Registered interpreters when meeting with Deaf BSL users and distributed the new NRCPD SignSafe information cards.
